On the deck,

Against the 4×4
Where we hung the feeder
Outside the kitchen window

As the chickens and turkeys
Rustle through leaves
Under the maple tree
Picking up bugs
And pieces of corn

On this warm fall day
Just as the sun sets
On this pretty blue planet
Right here
