Millie just hit an even dozen in a row. She hasn’t said anything and I don’t wanna jinx her, but I suspect she has the all-time record in mind. Surely you’ve heard of it. Back in 1941, a hen named Jo DiMaggio laid an egg on each of 56 consecutive days. No hen has touched it since. And, not many people remember that after the layless day that broke the streak, she laid 16 more in a row, for a total of 72 in 73 days. Closest anyone’s come since is Rose’s great-great-great-great-great-great grandmother Petrecia “Pete” Rose, who laid for 44 straight days in 1978. Go Millie!
